Essentials you need to carry for your Ladakh trip

Ladakh is a Union Territory of India which constitutes a larger part of Kashmir. Ladakh is known for its breathtaking landscapes, crystal skies, blue water, and more. It is a dream location for bikers. The roads of Ladakh make you feel like you are riding the roads of heaven. So, before you take this road there are a few essentials you need to carry. This is your handy travelers guide.

Warm Gloves

Try keeping yourself warm by covering your palm with woolen gloves. If you are into Photography capturing every moment, use texting Gloves. So, you no need to remove your gloves every time you use your cell phone.

Caps

Ladakh has the coolest nights. Cover your ears, and neck with monkey caps or Bandana, scarf, mufflers, etc. While riding in the daytime use bandanas to protect your scalp from the sun.

Trekking Shoe

Always carry trekking shoes for your Ladakh trip. Since it keeps your feet warm and it’s the best choice if at all you are planning to go hiking.

Water Bottle

Not everyone may get adjusted to Ladakh water. So better carry a mineral water bottle. Carry THEROFLASK filled with hot water if at all the weather is too cold for you to handle. Most important, drink water and stay hydrated!

Polarized Sunglasses

Cold Cream

The weather in Ladakh may be a little hard on a few. Therefore, it may lead to dryness of the skin. Always apply cold cream/moisturizer to avoid these situations.

First Aid Kit

You never know what may go wrong on your trip. So always be prepared with your first aid kit. Make sure that your first aid kit contains Band-aid, Crocin, Volini, Cotton, ENO, Sanitizer, and other essentials as per your health condition,

Warm Jacket

If at all you are planning for winter trips try wrapping yourself with warm jackets. Preferably waterproof. If you think your jacket is not thick enough to bet the cold, wear layer clothes to keep yourself warm.

Necessity clothes

The weather in Ladakh can be a little crazy. Don’t stuff only woolen clothes and make your baggage heavy nor pack your bag with light clothes. Always check the weather forecast before leaving. Pack moderate clothes which are not too thick nor too thin. But never leave your winter jacket behind it is you must carry essentials.

Power bank / Extra Battery

Batteries die faster than regular due to cold temperatures. So, carry a power bank and extra batteries for your phones and camera. Stay connected!

PRO TIP: Always download offline maps.

Cash

You can’t expect ATMs in Ladakh. Online transactions may fail due to bad internet connectivity. So, carry enough cash until you reach an ATM.

Spare Key / Vehicle Tool kit requirement

This is the time you test your luck! You may have the best vehicle and still, things may go wrong! So be prepared. Always carry a spare key and tool kit (It’s like a first aid kit for vehicles).

Carry at least one ID proof (original & duplicate). Make sure you have a digital and hard copy of your ID. This will be helpful while hotel check-in, police checking, etc.

Important ID Documents

PRO TIP: Keep a passport size photo and ID Proof also write down your emergency contact and place it in your wallet for emergency purposes. Most importantly don’t forget to carry your Aadhar card.  

Lighter / Matches

Matches are like a ray of hope. If you are stuck in an unknown place and want to survive the cold. Use these to make fire camp and keep yourself warm. Moreover, it can also be used as emergency smoke. Carry a flashlight too.

PRO TIP: You cannot carry lighter / matches in flight. So, buy these once you reach the destination.
